(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) With the new school year in full swing school bus safety is being addressed through the bus patroller training program.
The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Kawartha Lakes Police Service are teaming up with the Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) and First Student and Stock Transportation bus companies to deliver this valuable training in conjunction with the CAA.
Students, who are often chosen for their leadership skills and positive attitude, will receive training related to emergency situations and how to help the bus operator on a daily basis.
The training took place at the Ops Community Centre on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 and will continue at the Fenelon Falls arena on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Approximately 300 students will be receiving this valuable information.
