Bruce County Road 1 has since reopened to traffic. The passengers of the buggy are both young males, one remains in London hospital. The driver of the minivan, 66 year old Joseph SAVAGE of Lucknow, has been charged with Fail to avoid collision.
(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – On July 13, 2012 at 6:12 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of crash involving a horse and buggy on Bruce County Road 1, Kinloss Township. Officers arrived to find that a horse and buggy was travelling north bound along Bruce County Road 1, when it was struck by a Blue Pontiac Montana also travelling north bound on Bruce County Road 1.
Two youth riding in the rear of the buggy were transported to Wingham hospital. One youth has since been air lifted to London with life threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan was transported to Kincardine hospital for assessment of non life threatening injuries.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.
