(Central Huron, ON) At approximately 12:30 pm on October 30, 2010 a Huron OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Telephone Road after the driver failed to stop for a stop sign. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer made the determination that he was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two samples of his breath. The driver complied and the results confirmed that he had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of driving. A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected cannabis marihuana.
As a result of the traffic stop, Budd BOYES (67) of Central Huron has been charged with one count of Impaired Driving, one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 20, 2010.
