(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Wednesday April 02, 2014 shortly before 12:30 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol observed a car travelling west bound on Hwy 8, east of Mitchell weaving in its lane. The car was pulled over in Mitchell and the male driver was spoken to.
The officer determined that the driver displayed signs of impairment, and had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Brian Michael CAOUETTE (32) of Woodstock has been charged with “driving while ability impairedâ€Â, and “driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in bloodâ€Â. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Monday May 05, 2014 to answer to these charges. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.
