Brenden AANDEL – Drunk Driving

(RED LAKE, ON) –On July 21, 2016 at 1:28 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Red Lake Detachment responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on McKenzie Island.

Upon arrival to the island officers found the male driver to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and accompanied to the Red Lake Hospital where he provided samples of his breath.

Brenden AANDEL, Age 19, of Red Lake, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Millilitres of Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

AANDEL is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on August 25, 2016, to answer to the charges. AANDEL was also served a 90 day driving suspension.

The public is encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-888-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired while operating a motor vehicle whether it is a Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Boat or even an Airplane.
