Brantford Crime Briefs – 11Nov2016

Type: Arrest -Impaired

Locations: Stanley Street

Incident: On Friday November 11th, 2016 at 1:20am, a male had attended the Stanley Street McDonald’s Drive Thru. While waiting for his food, the driver fell asleep which prompted McDonald’s employees to contact police.

Upon police arrival the driver was pushing his vehicle out of the drive thru by the driver’s side door, claiming he could not start it. However, when police assisted in removing the vehicle from the drive thru, it was started without issue.

A roadside demand was read to the driver which resulted in a fail. The driver was brought to the station and provided a breath test which was more than two times the legal limit. It was also learned that the same driver was a disqualified driver for a previous impaired charge.

As a result of this investigation, Jeff MARTIN of Oshweken was charged with Over the legal Limit, Driving while disqualified, and Driving While Suspended.

The accused was released with a future court date.

Type: Arrest -Domestic

Locations:

Incident: On the November 11, 2016 at 4:42 a.m. police attended to a Brantford residence regarding a domestic. Apparently around 3am as the couple were moving furniture, they became involved in an argument which escalated to the female being assaulted. The male left and police were contacted. Through investigation it was learned that the incident was not the first. The male had also destroyed property belonging to the victim. The male was located around 5am and was placed under arrest. As a result, police have charged a 24 yr old Brantford man with 2 counts of Assault and Mischief under $5,000.00 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He was to appear in bail court today.

Crime Brief – November 10, 2016

Locations: Colborne Street East

Incident: On Thursday November 10th, 2016 at 1:06 A.M., police attended a Colborne Street motel regarding damaged property. Prior to Police arrival, information was received that the accused, a female, had used a chair and struck the outside window of a room causing the exterior pane to break.

Police investigation revealed that the accused was having a verbal argument with her boyfriend. The boyfriend began throwing her clothes outside before the accused smashed the window. As police were dealing with the female it was learned that she also had a warrant for her arrest.

As a result a 35 yr old female from Waterford is charged with Mischief Under $5000.
