(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – A young male driver has lost his licence for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded after he was stopped for driving way too fast while impaired.
On August 10, 2014 at approximately 4:12 a.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Richmond Street in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre when the officer observed a southbound vehicle travelling at an extreme rate of speed. The officer measured the vehicle going in excess of 150 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
The vehicle was stopped and police spoke with the driver who was displaying signs of impairment by alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to the OPP detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, 19 year old Brandon WEDEMIRE of London, ON was charged with the following:
Impaired Driving under the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving with over 80 milligram of Alcohol in Blood under the Criminal Code of Canada
Race a Motor Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom September 11, 2014 to speak to the charges.
