(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) A member of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol travelling westbound on Highway 65 East on September 20, 2014.
Shortly before 8:00 a.m., a suspect vehicle passed the police while travelling in the same direction at a high rate of speed. Police stopped the vehicle to check the status of the driver. Further investigation resulted in a 28-year old Quebec man facing several charges.
Brandon KING-TEBISCON of Notre-Dame-du-Nord is charged:
Over 80 – section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
Driving While Disqualified – section 259(4) of the Criminal Code
Speeding – section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act
Race a motor vehicle – section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
The suspect vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on October 21, 2014.
