(CENTRE WELLLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On August 10, 2015 at approximately 12:08 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2005 Volkswagon that was travelling southbound on St. David Street at St. Andrew Street in Fergus, Centre Wellington Township. While speaking with the driver officers detected the odour of alcohol on his breath and a Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
39-year-old Bolarmino Carreiro RESENDES of Waterdown has been charged with Over 80 mgs and Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 22, 2015 to answer to his charges.
