(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On October 11, 2014, at 5:54pm, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a missing 22 year old Fort Frances, ON male. Family became concerned when the male didn’t return home and reported to police that he was last seen in the area of the Sorting Gap Marina.
Local detachment members began their search of the area with the support of the OPP Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), United States Customs and Border Protection marine patrol and OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit(USR).
As a result of the search, on October 12, 2014 at 6:24pm, OPP USR located the body of 22 year old Brandon RONMARK of Fort Frances, ON. A post mortem investigation was conducted at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on October 13, 2014.
The Fort Frances Crime Unit is continuing the investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
