(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating the robbery of a convenience store and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.
On December 11, 2015 at approx. 3:15am, a lone male entered a convenience store situated in the 1800 block of Baseline Road. The suspect made a demand for cash, indicating that he had a gun. No gun was seen. An altercation occurred between the suspect and the employee during which the employee was struck with a phone to the head.
The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of cash and met a second suspect who waited outside the store. The clerk sustained minor injuries that did not require further medical attention. The suspects were last seen running northbound on Navaho Drive towards Iris Street.
Images of the primary suspect were obtained from a location nearby. The suspect is described as being male with a darker complexion, approximately 18 years old, approximately 5’8” (173cm), slim build with black hair. At the time, he wore a blue bomber jacket with a fur collar and hood, black jeans, a white belt, with his underwear showing above the belt line (see pictures).
