Bartosz ZACHARA – Careless Driving, Distracted Driving

(CHATHAM, ON) On August 4, 2016, a member of Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Mill Street near Canal Street in Tilbury. The officer, who was riding a marked OPP Motorcycle, observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation.

The vehicle began to make a lane change while the officer was driving beside it. The officer was forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision. The driver was observed holding a communication device to his ear.

The vehicle was stopped and upon further investigation, the male driver, Bartosz ZACHARA, 42-years-old of Kitchener was charged with careless driving and drive – hand-held communication device, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively monitoring the “Big 4” driving behaviours; impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.
