(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On Tuesday December 4, 2012 at approximately 1:32 am, members of the County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling on Highway 6 near Side Road 7 in the Township of Wellington North, operating radar and monitoring traffic.
At this time and location Constable Pat Mullan observed a southbound auto that appeared to be travelling at a speed well above the speed limit. Police clocked the 2006 Dodge Charger on radar at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver’s licence has been suspended and vehicle seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
Barry Riggs age 20 of Flamborough Twp has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on January 16, 2013 to answer to the charge.
