Barrie Police attended a north end address on the 21st of July 2015 for a report of a male threatening his fellow tenants while armed with a hammer. Barrie Police located a 52 year old male at the residence as well as several witnesses to the incident. It is alleged that the male party threatened other tenants of a rooming house with death while armed with a hammer. Further investigation revealed that the accused is presently bound by a Probation Order with several conditions including not to possess any weapons. Subsequently the accused was arrested and charged accordingly, and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police, Fire and EMS responded to a call in the west end of Barrie in regards to a 35-year old male that was unconscious and having trouble breathing.
When emergency services arrived on scene, the male was absent of vital signs. EMS and Fire commenced CPR on the male and he was transported to RVH but was not able to be revived and was pronounced deceased at RVH.
The cause of the death is not known but at this time it does not appear to be suspicious.
