The Barrie Police Service is seeking witnesses to assist with identifying a male suspect following a theft at The Bay, located at 465 Bayfield Street, City of Barrie.
On Friday, September 4, 2015, video surveillance captured a male suspect selecting four Lacoste watches while in the jewellery department. He is observed moving to another area within the store and removing the alarm sensors off each of the watches and then concealing the items and exiting the store.
Further investigation has led police to identifying this male as being the suspect responsible for two additional thefts in August, where a total of six Lacoste watches were stolen.
The investigation is ongoing.
The suspect is described as:
Suspect:
Male, white
Late 20’s
5’8”, medium build, 175-200lbs
Short brown hair, shaved on both sides
Clothing:
Blue plaid shirt
Dark baseball hat (on one occasion)
Cargo shorts – dark in colour
Dark running shoes with white soles

On Saturday, September 5, 2015, shortly after 12:00 a.m., police responded to a residential fire on Parkside Drive, City of Barrie.
The multi-unit house was quickly evacuated; fortunately none of the six people inside were injured. There were no children inside the residence at the time.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office estimated the damage at $500,000, and deemed the fire to be suspicious as an accelerant was used to ignite the fire.
The Barrie Police Investigative Services Unit has identified several witnesses who are providing more information as the investigation continues.
