(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On Saturday September 7, 2013 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at a cottage in Whitestone.
A 60 year old male required medical attention after he ate brownies made with Cannabis Marijuana. The male was attended to by EMS and later released. The son of the man baked the brownies from Marijuana plants he had growing in his back yard.
Police seized a total of 22 Marijuana plants, 506 grams of Cannabis Marijuana Brownies and 408 grams of Cannabis Marijuana stalks and leaves; a street value of approximately $28,600.
George Newburgh Jr, 27 years of age from Stevensville Ontario, was charged with:
Produce controlled substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession Schedule II Marijuana – Under 30 grams, contrary to the CDSA
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on October 10, 2013 to answer to the charges.
