ATV DRIVER NABBED FOR DRINKING AND DRIVING

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – A Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol in the Town of Caledonia, in Haldimand County.

At approximately 11:48 p.m. Friday July 11th, 2014, the officer observed two ATV’s crossing Braemar Street in the town of Caledonia. The officer activated his emergency lights and both ATV’s fled, but one driver lost control of his ATV. While the officer was talking to the male driver he observed all the usual signs of impairment by alcohol. The driver was transported to the Haldimand County OPP for Intoxilyzer tests.

Curtis MURPHY 46 years of age from the City of Brantford is facing the following Criminal charges

Impaired Driving
Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Blood Alcohol Content
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to attend Provincial Court in Cayuga at a later date.
