(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment received a report of an attempt theft of a motor vehicle at a Queensway East, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Friday, December 26, 2014 at approximately 4:26 p.m., an unknown suspect was observed by an alert citizen attempting to enter a parked pick-up truck located in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore. The suspect damaged the door lock on the vehicle and gained entry. Once inside, the suspect then damaged the steering column in an attempt to remove the vehicle however their attempt was not successful.
The suspect is being described as a native male, long dark hair wearing a plaid jacket.
A white coloured Chevrolet Astro van was observed leaving the area with the suspect and was last seen travelling towards Queensway East.
