(HALIBURTON, ON) – The Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating an attempted arson that occurred in Haliburton Ontario. On October 28 2013 at approximately 7:30 pm the owner of a residence on Pine Street in Dysart et al called police to advise of a incident that had occurred. The property owner located a partially burned container with a flammable liquid that had been thrown at the front of the house. Fortuntely the contents of the container did not ignite as the house was occupied by a family at the time. The OPP is asking members of the public that may have information regarding this to please contact them at (705) 286-1431. The public may also forward their tips to Kawartha-Haliburton Crimestoppers at 1 800 222-8477 (TIPS) which may result in a $2000 reward if information leads to an arrest or charge.
