(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – On October 20, 2016, officers from the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an attempted abduction involving an 11-year old girl on her way to school.
Police learned that the victim was walking on Falkner Road between Warman Street and Knight Street in the Town of New Tecumseth (Alliston) at approximately 8:40 a.m., when a male approached her from behind. He grabbed her backpack and pulled her towards him. The child was able to break free, and fled the scene on foot. The male’s direction of travel afterwards remains unknown.
The Nottawasaga OPP now has an updated description of the male and is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying him. The male is described as:
Height 5’10” to 6’0”
Athletic build
Clean Shaven
Shoulder length unkept dark hair
Dark eye colour
Pale complexion
Approximately early to mid 30’s
Wearing a black hoodie, dark ripped jeans
Carrying a white back pack with black straps
Investigators have received other information thought to be related to this incident; however they have since been deemed unfounded and unrelated. The OPP is grateful for the assistance that they have received from the public and continue to appeal to anyone who may have information or know this suspect to make a report.
