Attempt To Avoid Police Results In Arrest

(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On April 20, 2014 at 11:41pm, a Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sergeant was on patrol along Sauble Falls Parkway in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula when he observed a gold Pontiac Grand Prix that had a vehicle equipment issue under the highway traffic act (HTA). The Grand Prix accelerated away and made a quick turn down a side street. The vehicle was located on Grouse Drive parked in a driveway the vehicle driver was found to be a suspended driver. Further investigation revealed the license plates didn’t match the car, there was no proof of insurance and a some illegal drugs were seized.

Alex TERMAAT age 19, of Tavistock, Ontario was arrested and charged under the highway traffic act with driving while under suspension, use plate not authorized, operate motor vehicle without insurance (compulsary automobile insurance act), possession of cocaine and possession of marihuana under the controlled drugs and substances act (CDSA).

Michael DOBBIN age 21, of Tavistock, Ontario was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marihuana under the CDSA.

Both males are to appear in Owen Sound Court of Justice on May 8, 2014 to answer to the charges.
