On September 1, 2014 at 8:45pm, members of the Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Franklin St N and Weber St E in Kitchener for reports of a young female in distress. Police spoke with the female and to provide assistance. The female complied and was apprehended under the Mental Health Act. She was taken to Grand River Hospital and held for assessment. No one was injured during the incident. Kitchener Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded as a precaution. Conestoga Parkway Highway 8 was temporarily closed to any traffic.
