CK14038189 Intoxicated in a Public Place
On December 28 2014 at approx. 3:00am, Chatham-Kent officers responded to a disturbance call on King St West in Chatham. As a result of the holidays, there were several persons partying downtown which resulted in some disagreements and altercations. As a result of the investigation a 29 year old Chatham man was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. He was held in custody until he sobered up.
CK14038177 Assault
On December 28 2014 at approximately 2:00am, Chatham-Kent officers responded to a call for assistance from a downtown establishment. Officers attended an address on King St W Chatham. As a result of the investigation it was determined that a Female Patron had spit in the face of one of the employees working that evening. A 22 year old female from Chatham was arrested and charged with Assault. She was released from custody with a future court date
CK14038141- Domestic Assault
On December 27 2014 at approximately 5:00pm, Chatham-Kent officers responded to a call for assistance regarding a Domestic disturbance at an address on Mary street in Chatham. As a result of the investigation it is alleged that victim’s boyfriend was consuming alcohol, became verbally abusive, then, pulled the victims hair, grabbed her around the neck, threw a kitchen knife at her and damaged property in the home. A 36 year old Chatham man was arrested and charged with Assault, Utter Threats and Assault with a Weapon. He remains in custody pending a Court appearance. There were no injuries as a result of the altercation.
Please Clear the Way for Emergency Vehicles
Minutes can seem like an eternity to those waiting for help. Every day police, fire and ambulance respond to urgent calls. Time lost getting there could mean the difference between life and death.
A major concern for all emergency responders is motorists who don’t make way for emergency vehicles. When you see an emergency vehicle, slow down, signal and move to the right. If possible, pull as close as you can to the right side of the roadway and stop when safe to do so. Look for other vehicles that also may have to move across lanes of traffic to yield the right of way.
Stay alert, avoid being distracted while driving, this will help you notice an emergency vehicle as soon as possible and when you do, prepare to clear the way!
