On the 27th of July 2014 at approximately 10pm, police were called to attend a downtown area residence in regards to a male and female arguing. When officers arrived at the residence they observed trace amounts of blood on the front porch.
When the officers inquired as to what was happening within the residence a male answered the door and was refusing to allow officers pass the threshold of the doorway. Officers could hear a female in the residence and observed blood and damaged furniture on the floor. Officers attempted to gain access but the male continued to resist. He was quickly arrested for obstructing with the officers investigation.
Once inside officers located a female who had lacerations on her face.
The two parties were celebrating the males birthday and had been consuming alcohol when an argument ensued. The argument escalated and resulted in the male grabbing the female by the throat and smashing a bottle across her face.
The 52 year old male was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and obstruct police. He was held pending a bail hearing. The female victim was treated for her injuries at the scene of the incident.
