Assault

A 22 year old Chatham male is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing after being arrested and charged with Assault. It is alleged the accused and his 23 year old girlfriend became involved in a verbal argument while at their residence in Chatham yesterday morning. During the argument the accused proceeded to punch the victim in the face causing swelling to the right side of her face. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused was located, arrested and held for a bail hearing.
