(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On April 26, 2018, at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were assisting the Chippewas of The Thames First Nation Police Service at an unrelated event.
Officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of the on-going police investigation. The officer determined that the 37-year-old, male, driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station for further testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Ashley Blayne RILEY-HONYOUST, of Chippewas of The Thames First Nation, Ontario has been charged with Drive While Disqualified, Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).
The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court room on June 7, 2018 to answer to the charges.
