Arrests Made In Break And Enter

(ESSEX, ON) – On November 5, 2016 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit (SCU) arrested two persons in a stolen vehicle resulting in dozens of charges being laid following a short lived crime spree in Essex County.

In the early morning hours of November 5, 2016 a Ford Focus was stolen from a Morton Avenue residence, in Essex, Ontario. Also in the Town of Essex, several other vehicles were entered resulting in the theft of credit cards and other valuables.

Through investigation, two suspects were identified and located in the stolen vehicle in the Town of Amherstburg, Ontario within a few hours of these crimes taking place.

Joseph HANLON, age 27 of Amherstburg, Ontario has been charged with the following offences:

Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 X 7

Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000

Break And Enter A Dwelling House

Theft From Motor Vehicle Under $5000 X 6

Theft Of Motor Vehicle

Unlawful Use of Credit Card X 2

Brittney MICHOS, age 28 of Windsor, Ontario has been charged with the following offences:

Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 X 5

Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 X 1

Theft From Motor Vehicle Under $5000 X 5

Theft Of Motor Vehicle

Unlawful Use of Credit Card …..X2

The OPP have a quantity of seized property in their possession that still needs to be identified and claimed. They are asking that if any resident in the Morton Avenue, Essex, Ontario vicinity has noticed items missing from their vehicles, to contact them at 519-723-2491.
