On March 23, 2015 at 11:50 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a Deerpath Drive residence after a 30-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds sought refuge at the home. Police investigation led to the arrest of a male at a separate residence nearby. The victim was transferred to Hamilton General Hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition. Both parties were known to each other and there is no threat to public safety arising from this incident.
A 34-year-old Guelph male has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 24, 2015.
