Arlene COPAN – Drunk Driving, Breach, etc

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On February 25, 2016 at approximately 10:20 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver. Police located the 2004 Sebring on Highway 7 near Skyway Drive, Guelph-Eramosa Township.

The female driver was spoken with and officers believed that she had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

Officers continued with the investigation and learned that the vehicle was reported stolen and she was not following two court orders along with a condition placed on her by Police.

49-year-old Arlene COPAN of Kitchener has been charged with;

Over 80-Criminal Code (C.C.)

Possession of Property by Crime Under $5000-C.C.

Fail to Comply with Probation Order X 2-C.C.

Fail to Comply with Undertaking-C.C.

She appeared in Guelph Bail Court on February 26, 2016 to answer to the charges.
