(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while conducting RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on 26 November 2016 on Pauline Johnson Road in The County of Brant.
At approximately 8:45am police stopped a 2010 Chevrolet Blazer after it attempted to avoid the RIDE check.
Police determined through investigation that the driver had been drinking alcohol and the male driver was arrested.
OPP investigators have charged 60-year-old Sherman WARNER of Haldimand County with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Driving with More than 80 mgs, of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)
Driving While Disqualified, contrary to Section 259(4)
Fail to Comply with conditions of an Undertaking contrary to Section 145(5.1)
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
