(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 36 year old novice driver from Central Huron is now facing an Over 80 charge following her arrest this past weekend. Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on June 27, 2015 the driver of a Chevrolet pick-up truck entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program located at the intersection of Bayfield Main Street and The Square.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer detected the odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a fail. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. She subsequently provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 36 year old Marguerite VOGT from Central Huron has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Class G2 Licence Holder Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Above Zero. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on August 1, 2015. She also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
