(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Two separate vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the drivers being charged with the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offence of stunt driving.
On September 27, 2014 a motorcycle travelling at 137 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Fenel Road was observed and stopped. Angelo NOVIS, 51 years of age, of Little Britain, was charged with racing, contrary to the HTA and his vehicle was towed from the scene. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 18, 2014.
On September 28, 2014 an officer observed a vehicle travelling at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 35 near Fleetwood Road. The driver, Zelig PALARIA, 65 years of age, of Thornhill, was charged with racing a motor vehicle, contrary to the HTA. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 18, 2014.
