(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On April 20, 2017 at 2:30 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint on a motor vehicle in the Town of Fort Frances.
Officers then conducted a traffic stop on the 900 block of Kings Highway 11 in Fort Frances. The driver, Andre VALENZUELA, age 24 years of Fort Frances, was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory 7 days. The driver was subsequently charged with,
-Having Care or Control While Impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
-Having Care or Control over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
-Driving while Disqualified contrary to section 259(1) of the Criminal Code
He will appear in Fort Frances Court on May 30, 2017 to answer to the charge.
