An man charged with break and enters to Orleans and Cumberland homes

(Ottawa) — Between July 20th 2015 and August 13th 2015, a suspect entered numerous homes in the Orleans and Cumberland area while the residents were away from the home. The suspect targeted homes with open or unlocked windows and doors and stole jewellery, electronics, cash and alcohol.

Officers from the East District Break and Enter Section were assigned to investigate the occurrences. During their investigation officers arrested the suspect, who was still in possession of many items taken from a recent break and enter.

26 year old Joshua SAUNDERS, of Ottawa, has been charged with eight counts of break and enter to a dwelling house, eight counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and one count of attempting break and enter to a dwelling house.

The Ottawa Police Service would like to remind the public to lock your windows and doors whenever you are away from the home to help prevent this type of crime and report anything suspicious in your neighbourhood.
