(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On February 14, 2016 at approximately 9:25 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting Radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Wellington Street in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male operating a 2015 Dodge Charger northbound at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 124 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
32-year-old Amir MASOUMI of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on April 6 to answer to the charge.
