Amanda BUCK – Swerving Into Oncoming Traffic, Drive While Drugged

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On October 4, 2013 at 1:15 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a 9-1-1 emergency in relation to a possible impaired driver. A citizen observed an eastbound Ford Focus that was swerving into oncoming traffic on Huron Road near Parr Line.

Shortly after receiving the call for assistance officers were able to locate and stop the driver on Isaac Street in Clinton. Upon speaking with the female driver officers determined the driver was displaying several signs that she was under the influence of drugs. Upon questioning the driver she provided a small quantity of marihuana to the officers. The driver was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a search of the vehicle was completed. Officers then located an additional quantity of an illegal drug (Hydromorphone).

The driver was transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment where a Drug Recognition Officer (DRO) conducted an assessment on the driver and formed the opinion she was impaired by drug.

As a result, 28 year old Amanda BUCK from Huron East has been charged with Impaired Driving and Possession of a Schedule I and Schedule II Controlled Substance.

She has been released from custody with a court appearance schedule for November 4, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
