ALPR Nabs Two On Hwy 24

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 31-year-old female and 37-year-old male after police stopped (2) two vehicles at a Norfolk County Highway 24, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Friday, July 8, 2016 at approximately 2:16 p.m., an officer was westbound on Norfolk County Highway 24, and was operating an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) vehicle, which detects licence plates in poor standing.

As the officer was travelling westbound on Highway 24, the ALPR vehicle alerted the officer to (2) licence plates on separate vehicles travelling east bound on Highway 24. The vehicles were subsequently stopped and investigated.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that both vehicles were registered to the same owner.

As a result, police have charged 31-year-old Charissa Jean BELL of Hamilton, Ontario with driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Charged with driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act is 37-year-old Paul PICHE of Hamilton, Ontario.

Both are to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
