Almaguin Highlands Report

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Saturday July 23, 2016 at approximately 3:30 a.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle parked on the Highway 11 and Three Mile Lake Road off ramp. Officers approached the driver of the vehicle and subsequently arrested him for care and control of a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the accused was a suspended driver.

The accused, Jeramie SAUVE, 31 of Kingsville Ontario was charged with the following offences:

• Care or control while impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

• Care or control over 80 milligrams, contrary to section 253 (1)(b) CC

• Fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) CC

• Fail to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(5.1) CC

• Driving while under suspension, five counts, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

The accused was released from custody after a bail hearing and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday August 25, 2016 in Sundridge, Ontario.

OPP INVESTIGATE THEFT OF PARK MODEL TRAILER

(MAGNETAWAN, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a park model trailer on Sunday July 24, 2016 at approximately 1:00p.m. The trailer was parked at a River Road property and was taken sometime between July 9, 2016 and July 24, 2016.

The trailer is described as a white 1996 38 foot Golden Falcon park model trailer with two slide outs and a full size patio door on the left side. The inside is fully furnished and is valued at approximately $6000.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

BREAK AND ENTER TO LEGGETTS ROAD PROPERTY

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Monday July 25, 2016 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a break enter and theft to a Leggett’s Road property.

Sometime between March 2016 and July 25, 2016 unknown person(s) entered the property and stole numerous items which include a 2010 Honda 4runner, brown and white, a 1992 Suzuki Quad runner red, a Honda generator model GC160, grey, a Shindaiwa weed eater t-230, Shindaiwa pole saw, echo gas powered pruner, numerous hand tools, fish finder, Minnkota trolling motor, black and white, and numerous other items. The total value of the missing items is approximately $20,000.
