(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 12, 2016 at approximately 11:20 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 at Wellington Road 44, Guelph-Eramosa Township. A man was southbound in a 2015 Dodge and struck a vehicle from behind that was stopped at a red light. Police spoke with the driver of the Dodge and believed that he had consumed alcohol. A roadside test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
61-year-old Allan BRIANT of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 5, 2016.
