(MITCHELL, ON) In the early hours of Saturday morning April 3rd 2010, Perth County OPP officers attended at a pickup truck on Frank Street in Mitchell which had been involved in a minor collision with a tree.
The driver of the truck was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville. There he registered over .80 mgs. on the Intoxilyzer.
Alexander Bennewies (19) of the Municipality of West Perth was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content. He is to appear in Stratford Court on May 10th 2010 to answer to these charges. He has also been charged with failing to remain and was served a 90 day drivers licence suspension.
