ALERT: Police Seeking Dennis Jerry Wihnon – Breach Probation, Assault, Drugs & Firearms Offences – Picture Released

(WALKERTON, ON) – On August 30th, 2011 at 4:08 pm, the South Bruce OPP attempted to stop a suspected stolen vehicle in the Walkerton area.

Unmarked units blocked the vehicle, a black Honda car but in the process the male driver who has been identified as Dennis WIHNON was able to escape the scene on foot.

Members of West Region Tactical Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Unit, and Canine Unit were working nearby and were called upon to assist with the search for the suspect male.

During the Police investigation reports of a male matching the description of the Dennis WIHNON were received of him fleeing through residential yards in the Gibson Street area. Officers converged on the area and continued to search without success.

A short time after, the Police received a report of a stolen black GMC Envoy from a Robinson St. Walkerton residence.

The OPP has an arrest warrant issued for 29-year-old Dennis Jerry Wihnon. He is wanted by the OPP for Being Unlawfully at Large, Breach of Probation, Assault and Fail to Attend Court. He is also wanted by Toronto Police Services for drug and firearm offences. Wihnon is additionally wanted by the West Grey Police Service for Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving and Drug Trafficking.

He is described as being a white male, 160 pounds (173 kg), 5’10” (178 cm), spiked blonde short hair, (although hair colour and style may have been altered) and hazel eyes. He may be sporting a goatee as well. The accused has tattoo markings on his middle back and right back of Chinese art and a dragon. Wihnon also goes by several aliases; “Brian Wihnon”, “Dennis Cailloux” and “Jessie Hutchinson”. The accused may employ additional aliases to avoid detection.

The OPP encourages the accused to surrender to any Police agency immediately, where he can be taken safely into custody. Those in contact with Dennis WIHNON are also encouraged to ask him to turn himself into Police.

The OPP are renewing the request for the assistance of the public in attempts to locate Dennis WIHNON.
