(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) The Perth County OPP is attempting to locate the owners of a one year old beagle which was hit by a vehicle on Hwy. 8 in front of Hillside Manor (between Sebringville and Mitchell).
Investigation revealed that at approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2010 the animal was struck by a motor vehicle on the highway. The motorist did not remain at the scene but other motorists stopped and removed the injured animal from the middle of the road. They subsequently contacted police and transported the animal to a local veterinary clinic.
The veterinary advises that the dog is a one year old beagle / hound cross. It is brown and white in colour and was not wearing a collar. It is described by all involved as being, “cute as a buttonâ€. The animal has a fractured pelvic bone and a dislocated hip for which it is currently receiving treatment.
The owner of the dog is requested to contact the Perth County OPP to arrange for pickup of the animal. Anyone knowing the owner of the dog is requested to also contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122
