(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Saturday December 27, 2014 just after midnight Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a male walking on the public docks in the town of Huntsville. The male appeared to be having difficulty walking and fell a couple of times down a hill in the area toward the Muskoka River. A 29 year-old male of Toronto Ontario was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to Huntsville detachment where he was lodged for his own safety.
On the same day at about 6:45pm Huntsville OPP was notified of a possible impaired driver on Highway #11 in a Ford Taurus. Soon after a second report of the same vehicle had just went into the centre median. As a result of the investigation it was found that the driver had been drinking. John MACINTOSH (47yrs) of Milton Ontario was eventually charged with Impaired Driving under the Criminal Code of Canada. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 15, 2015 to answer to his charges.
On Sunday December 28, 2014 just after 2:00am Huntsville OPP stopped a Chev Impala on Highway #60 near Fairyview Dr. It was found that the driver had been drinking. As a result of the traffic stop Kathleen HOLMES (23yrs) of Huntsville was issued a 3 day licence suspension for being in the warn range.
Huntsville OPP would like to remind everyone to plan ahead when celebrating over the holiday season. A sober ride home is a safe ride home.
