(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Friday April 4, 2014 just before midnight Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol in the town of Huntsville. The officer noticed a Honda Civic on Main St that was driving without lights on, and subsequently stopped it.
The driver Derek TODD (37yrs) of Novar Ontario was found to have been drinking. He was eventually arrested and charged with having more than 80mgs of alcohol per 100mltrs of blood under the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released and will appear in Ontario Court of Justice Huntsville on May 5th 2014 to answer to his charges.
On Saturday April 5, 2014 just before 8:00pm officers observed a vehicle driving erratically On Highway #11 near Rowanwood Road Huntsville, Ontario. The officer stopped the vehicle and found the driver had been drinking. As a result of the traffic stop Robert IRWIN (30yrs) of Barrie, Ontario was charged with Impaired Driving and having more than 80mgs of alcohol per 100mltrs of blood under the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with Possession of Schedule 11 drug – marihuana under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Huntsville on June 4, 2014 to answer to his charges.
Both accused received a 90 day licence suspension and also had their vehicles towed and impounded for the 7 day requirement.
