Aircraft Down In Lake – Deceased Pilot Identified

(Bruce County, ON.) –South Bruce OPP is advising that the pilot of a downed aircraft just northwest of the town of Hanover has died.

72 year old John Davidson of Stoney Creek was piloting a light Zenair aircraft when it entered Lake Rosalind at about 12:10 pm on November 28th, 2010.

Lake Rosalind is a small lake on the eastern edge of the Municipality of Brockton and is in close proximity to the Hanover Airport. It has now been confirmed that the pilot had departed from his airport of origin in Stoney Creek, ON. intending to land at the Hanover Airport during the noon hour.

The Transport Canada, Transport Safety Board is continuing the investigation.
