(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Thursday November 11, 2010, shortly before 11 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer on patrol in Listowel observed a fast moving car on Tremaine Ave. South. The officer followed the speeding car to a residence on Line 81 south of Listowel where it stopped and the driver was spoken to.
When the officer was talking to the driver, signs of impairment were detected. This resulted in the driver’s arrest and his transport to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville for breath tests.
As a result of the tests Adam Swartz (20) from the Municipality of North Perth was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. In addition he was found to have suspected marihuana in his possession resulting in a charge of marihuana possession under 30 grams. He has also been charged with driving a motor vehicle while under suspension.
He is scheduled to appear in criminal court on December 08, 2010 in Atwood to answer to these charges.
