BRACEBRIDGE, ON) Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) marine unit are currently investigating a recovered partially submerged pleasure craft near Baxter Island on Lake Muskoka.
On October 8, 2013 the OPP headed out on the water after receiving a call concerning a vessel that was observed abandoned floating around Lake Muskoka. Police located the vessel which appeared to have been set adrift, and was heavily damaged. The OPP was successful safely towing the damaged boat to shore.
Pride of Muskoka Marine was very helpful volunteering their services to remove the vessel from the water, as fuel was observed leaking out from a gas line on the boat.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
