(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 17, 2016 at approximately 7:32 p.m. members Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a dog bite incident that occurred at a residence on Wellington Road 16 in Centre Wellington Township.
Two young boys, aged 8 and 9, were playing in a back yard when the attack occurred.
The Wellington County OPP along with investigators from the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Ontario SPCA) are investigating the incident which is still ongoing.
The 9-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital and required medical attention.
