(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Windham Road 12, Windham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Friday, August 7, 2015 at approximately 8:28 a.m., Police and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist.
Investigation has determined that a cyclist and a Ford motor vehicle were travelling eastbound on Windham Road 12 when they became involved in a collision. As a result, the cyclist was ejected from his bicycle and landed in the south ditch.
The cyclist, a 60 year male of New Tecumseth, Ontario suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital and then air lifted to a Hamilton area hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle did not suffer any injuries.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 82-year-old Walter SCOTT of Norfolk County, Ontario with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
