On January 13th 2015 at 11:54 am Barrie Police were called to the scene of a single motor vehicle accident at Huronia Road, south of Big Bay Point Road.
Upon arrival police observed the vehicle driven by an 80 year old female had veered off the roadway and come to rest in a snow filled ditch. The female was unresponsive and treated on scene by paramedics and transported to The Royal Victoria Regional Health Care Center in critical condition.
The female will remain in hospital under the care of health professionals.
The Barrie Police Traffic Reconstruction Team believes the accident was caused by a medical issue but has not made a determination. The investigation remains open at this time.
